An Inspirational Story

Demont’s remarkable road to recovery

October 7, 2017 will make 5 years since Demont suffered Traumatic Brian Injury as told in “Demont’s Story” under the “About” tab on this website.

This video is a depiction of what in fact can take place when brain injury victims are encouraged and supported which makes them feel loved, determined and filled with perseverance to succeed and live a normal life.

Demont once played Soccer at a high level for the Bahamas National Team (World Cup Qualifiers) and the Hofstra Pride in Division One Soccer at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

The mere fact that he can once again juggle the ball with both feet, accurately kick it a good distance, shows the return of great hand eye coordination. Demont and we at the Mitchell Ekedede Brain Injury Foundation want to encourage all brain injury survivors to NEVER, EVER give up. We hope to see Demont one day return to team soccer.

Stay tuned.
